Rotork YTC Smart Valve Positioner YT3301/3302
The YT-3301 is the remote-mounted member of the YT-3300 family: the feedback sensor separates from the positioner body on a cable of up to 20 m, so the electronics can be sited away from a mounting point that is too hot or vibrates too hard for them.

Technical Description
The YT-3301 is the remote-sensor member of the YT-3300 smart positioner family. Instead of one box bolted to the actuator yoke, it is two: a feedback sensor that mounts on the valve, and the positioner body with its electronics, LCD and pneumatics, which can sit up to 20 m away on a connecting cable. That is the whole point of the model. The sensor is rated -40 to 120 °C, far beyond the -30 to 85 °C the electronics will take, so a valve on a hot line or on a hard-vibrating machine can be instrumented properly by putting the sensitive half of the positioner somewhere survivable.
Cable is ordered as part of the model code in 5, 10, 15 or 20 m lengths. The positioner body weighs 2.2 kg; the sensor is 0.6 kg for linear service and 1.0 kg for rotary, and a 5 m cable adds 0.6 kg.
On the YT-3302: the manufacturer’s product manual lists it on the same specification table as the YT-3301 and refers to shared “YT-3301R / 3302R remote sensor components”, so it belongs to the same remote-mount design and shares the specification below. The manual does not set out a separate ordering code for it, so we do not publish a claimed difference. How the YT-3301 differs from the rest of the family
Signal handling and control are common across the whole YT-3300 range: 420 mA DC input, minimum current 3.2 mA (3.8 mA with HART), maximum 500 Ω at 20 mA, 0.140.7 MPa supply, ±0.5% linearity and hysteresis, 70 LPM flow at 0.14 MPa, IP66 and Type 4X (FM), HART rev. 7, SIL 2, auto-calibration, adjustable PID and partial stroke test.
- YT-3300 — the integral aluminium baseline, 2 kg, right-yoke mounting, and one of only two models that accept limit switches.
- YT-3303 — integral aluminium, left-yoke mounting, with a field-adjustable variable orifice.
- YT-3350 — integral stainless steel 316, 5.1 kg, for corrosive atmospheres.
The YT-3301 solves a different problem from all three: not corrosion, not mounting side, but heat and vibration at the valve. Its own limitations are worth knowing — the output option list stops at a 4~20 mA position transmitter (no limit switches), and in rotary service the lever choice is NAMUR only, where the integral models also offer M6 and M8 threaded arms.

Typical application
Two situations put a YT-3301 on a valve rather than an integral positioner.
Heat. Control valves on steam headers, thermic-fluid circuits, kiln and dryer fuel lines and hot process gas radiate enough into the yoke area to push an integral positioner past its 85 °C limit, especially outdoors in a Punjab or Sindh summer. Mounting the sensor at the valve and the body a few metres away on a cool bracket keeps the electronics inside their rating. This is common on cement kiln and preheater duty and on sugar mill boiler and evaporator steam.
Vibration. Valves close to reciprocating compressors, mills, crushers and pumps take a beating that shortens the life of any board-level assembly. Separating the two halves lets the sensor take the vibration while the electronics sit on structure. Oil & gas compression skids and pipe manufacturing plant are the usual candidates.
Where the mounting point is neither hot nor shaking, an integral YT-3300 is simpler, cheaper and has fewer things to install — use this model when the environment genuinely demands it.
