Air Filter Regulator YT-220
The YT-220 is the large-port aluminium filter regulator in the Rotork YTC range: 1/2 in air connections rather than 1/4 in, so it can feed a fast-stroking double-acting actuator or a small instrument manifold without starving it of air.

Technical Description
The YT-220 is the large-port aluminium filter regulator in the Rotork YTC range: its air inlet and outlet are Rc 1/2 (or 1/2 NPT), twice the nominal bore of the otherwise identical YT-200. That single difference is the reason to buy it. A 1/4 in regulator throttles at exactly the moment a large actuator demands its biggest gulp of air, and the result is a slow, lagging stroke that no amount of positioner tuning will fix. Where the downstream device can draw more air than a 1/4 in port will pass, the YT-220 is the correct unit.
Its gauge port remains 1/4 in, so standard YTC gauges and gauge blocks fit without change, and it carries the same 5-micron element, the same 1.7 MPa (17 bar) maximum supply and the same relief function as the rest of the family.
Choosing between the YT-220 and its siblings
| If you need | Order |
|---|---|
| 1/4 in ports, minimum weight, one instrument | YT-200 — aluminium, 0.62 kg |
| 1/2 in ports, higher flow, aluminium | YT-220 — 0.88 kg |
| 1/4 in ports in stainless steel 316 | YT-205 — 1.5 kg |
| 1/2 in ports in stainless steel 316 | YT-225 — 2.2 kg |
Pressure ratings, filtration and ambient temperature options are common across all four, so the decision reduces to port size first and body material second. Note that the YT-220 body is aluminium only; if the duty needs 1/2 in ports and corrosion resistance, the YT-225 is the model to specify.

| Weight | 0.88 kg (2 lb) manual drain; 0.94 kg (2.1 lb) auto drain |
Manual or automatic drain, both available. Outlet pressure holds steady against fluctuation in the header, and the relief port discharges to atmosphere if downstream pressure climbs above the set point.
Typical application
The YT-220 earns its place on double-acting rack-and-pinion or scotch-yoke actuators on larger rotary valves — a 6 in or 8 in butterfly valve on cooling water, a ball valve on a gas line — where both actuator chambers are being filled and vented on every stroke and the air demand is several times that of a small diaphragm actuator. In Pakistani oil & gas and pipe manufacturing service this is the regulator we quote alongside a YT-1000R rotary positioner or a YT-3300 smart positioner on emergency-shutdown and large throttling duties.
The second common case is a shared supply: one YT-220 mounted on a bracket at the head of a short run of 1/2 in tubing, feeding two or three nearby instruments from a single filtered, regulated point rather than fitting a small regulator to each. Cement plant packing and kiln areas, where the air is dust-laden and access for maintenance is awkward, tend to be laid out this way — one large-port regulator with an auto drain, checked on the same round as the valves it serves.
